It was by accident that ended up in Kashmir. I got a lot of stares for doing so, not least by locals who seldom see white foreigners but also by perpetual army presence constantly on edge in this fragile land. Convoys of army who past by, check points and AK47 are common on every road junction. But past that, the daily life of people attracted to this rich land continues, from Ladaki Nomads, Tibetan Refugees, families, Pakistanis, Indian, Farmers...I wanted to capture the beauty of the daily life of such a varied population that thrives despite the consequences of conflicts around them.

dbd0caf8-1543-4e0d-b8df-9ee6017f109eHey, Max! I have just noticed your message, happy to hear from you.
It must have been quite a change for you, landing from the fashion world to a struggling territory.
Personally, I find the tourist point of view very limited/ing, I have never been to Asia but if I did it would probably take me a lot of time and research to tell the story of a people whose history, culture, traditions are so different from my own, and I would probably need to go back several times.
I'd say you'd have to live there for a while, get to know the people better, learn their language, to really be able to tell their story. As you are saying that you got there by accident, you probably hadn't had time to do (much) research on the subject. If you are genuinely interested in their story and manage to get funding, you should go back to the region and get immersed in it.
Good luck to you too! =)
